In early November, Professor Barnaby Lenon CBE, the Dean of the School of Education, and Mr. Stephen Cook, the Director of International Programmes, embarked on a visit to China to participate in the University of Buckingham's annual Alumni & Networking events. This year, the events were hosted in two cities, Beijing, and Shanghai.
Following the Alumni & Networking events, Mr. Stephen Cook, along with representatives from the Buckingham International School of Education (BISE), had the privilege of visiting and being warmly welcomed by several international and bilingual schools, including Keystone Academy, Tsinghua International School Daoxiang Lake, Olive Tree International Academy BFSU, Hangzhou World Foreign Language School, St. Bees Dongguan, Yew Wah International School of Guangzhou, and ISA Liwan International School.
Each of the schools visited, supports trainee teachers undertaking the University of Buckingham’s teacher training, therefore, the school visits focused on interactions with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and iQTS (International Qualified Teacher Status) students, their mentors, and the school leadership teams.
Keith Budd, a history teacher of Tsinghua International School Daoxiang Lake, is one of the students currently taking the iQTS course with the University of Buckingham.
"It was great to meet Steve and the team from Buckingham at my school, and later at the presentation in downtown Beijing. I learnt a lot about the Buckingham University, and what it can offer my students from China as well as the programs offered from BISE."
In addition, he told BISE that he is enjoying his iQTS study.
"Even though I have been a teacher for many years, the theories, readings and observations that form part of the PGCE + iQTS program have been wonderful in helping me to reflect upon and improve my own classroom practice, I learn something new every week."
During the school visits, university representatives had a unique opportunity to witness the tangible effects of teacher training programs on schools and their communities. Engaging with school leadership teams not only shed light on the global resonance of the University of Buckingham's dedication to educational excellence but also provided valuable insights. Interactions with trainee teachers further deepened the understanding of the successes and challenges faced by individuals undergoing teacher training.

With over 1,300 teachers and school leaders studying there in any one year, the School of Education has become one of Britain’s leading providers of teacher training and professional development. The school is led by Professor Barnaby Lenon CBE who, as headmaster of Harrow School, started two schools in China. He and his team have a wealth of experience globally and in China to offer schools and individual trainees.

11月初，白金汉大学教育学院院长Barnaby Lenon教授和国际项目主任Stephen Cook先生访问中国，出席参加了一年一度的白金汉大学校友交流活动。今年的活动在北京上海两地成功举办。
在校友交流活动结束后，Stephen Cook先生与白金汉国际教育学院（BISE）的代表有幸参观了国内几所国际和双语学校，受到来自学校老师和领导的热情接待。代表团访问的学校包括：北京市鼎石学校、清华附中稻香湖学校、杭州橄榄树国际学校、杭州世界外国语学校、东莞圣比斯学校、广州耀华国际学校以及广州荔湾爱莎国际学校。
此次访问的学校都正在支持本校教师参加白金汉大学的教师培训课程，所以访问着重与教师资格研究生证书课程（PGCE）和国际英国教师资格证（iQTS）课程的学生、校本导师和学校领导沟通交流学习情况。
Keith Budd是任职于清华附中稻香湖学校的一名历史老师。他今年刚刚入学白金汉大学国际英国教师资格证课程（iQTS）。
“很高兴在学校见到白金汉大学的Steve老师和团队。通过这次访问，我对白金汉大学和白金汉国际教育学院提供的课程以及他们能为在中国的教师提供的服务有了更多的了解。”
同时，Keith也与我们分享了自己的iQTS课程学习体验。
“尽管我已经当了很多年的老师，但毋庸置疑，参加课程培训以来，我每周都会学到新的东西。这个项目中的理论学习、阅读和观察都在帮助我系统科学地反思以往的教学经验，并进一步帮助我改进课堂实践。”
此次访问为白金汉大学代表团提供了一个宝贵的机会，可以亲眼目睹其教师培训项目对国际学校及其所在社区的深远影响，并深入了解了白金汉大学对卓越教育的承诺如何在全球范围内引起共鸣。同时，与参加课程培训的老师们的互动，也让代表团一行切实了解到教师培训项目学员所经历的挑战和成功。
